Free customizable journals are in the Make-and-Take Kits

During these difficult times, you might have problems expressing and processing your emotions. One thing that helps us at the Forest Park Public Library is journaling, and the Youth Services department invites all youth to join us as we journal each week. Each session starts with a brief check-in and writing prompts, followed by journaling time.

Journaling time isn’t only for writing about your feelings: you can draw pictures, make lists, write stories, print/cut out pictures and glue them in your journal, whatever you feel like at the moment. Journaling is all about expressing yourself—No one will see what’s in your journal unless you choose to share it. Again, your journal is just for you! Use it how you wish.

At the end, you can share what you did during journaling time if you want, but no pressure if you want to keep it private. Feel free to join any and all youth journaling workshops.
