Kick off Banned Books Week 2023 by celebrating your right to read with a fun day at the Library!

This all-ages event is a chance for family and friends to have fun while proudly speaking up for all readers:  FOREST PARK READS!  The inspiration is to have a good time while celebrating and affirming our intellectual freedom in Forest Park.

  

2:00 pm:   Churro Truck arrives!

2:00 pm - 3:30pm:

Button Making  (by Stained Glass Window)

Blackout Poetry Station (in front of Community Room)

Sign-Making (Community Room—  supplies provided)

Read-a-Loud (YA Lounge)

Photo Booth (Commons)

3:30pm:  Freedom to Read Rally (FPPL Patio)

*Speakers include: Forest Park Mayor Rory Hoskins, IL House Speaker Chris Welch, and EveryLibrary Executive Director, John Chrastka
